WELCOME TO BRACKENVALE & GLENMORE

If you are a New Patient we would like to take this opportunity of welcoming you.

Unless you need emergency treatment, your visit will be devoted to a thorough examination, and, of course X-rays. The Dentist will then discuss your treatment Plan and any fees that may be involved. You will also be asked your Medical History.

To help the Dentist devote ALL the allocated time to you, it is best if you arrive 15 minutes early so that you have time to complete all your necessary paperwork - Patient's details, address, Medical History, etc.

MEDICAL HISTORY

This is taken from the Patient at the initial Appointment, and then updated. IF THERE IS ANY CHANGE IN YOUR HEALTH OR MEDICINES YOU MAY BE TAKING, YOU MUST TELL YOUR DENTIST AND/OR HYGIENIST.

PAIN CONTROL

Pain control is very important and we administer Local Anaesthetic for all treatment, at the request of the Patient.

STERILISATION/CROSS INFECTION CONTROL

This is taken very seriously by all the Staff, to ensure the highest standards.

DRUGS

The only drugs which are kept on the premises to be prescribed and sold to the patients at Reception (to save a journey to the chemist) are antibiotics.
NO OTHER DRUGS ARE KEPT ON THE PREMISES AT ANY TIME.

SURGERY ORGANISATION

Several Dentists and Hygienists usually hold surgeries at the same time. It may appear, therefore, that a Patient who has arrived in the Waiting Room later than you is being seen out of turn. This Patient may be on a different list, with a different Dentist or Hygienist to your own. Patients are seen in the order to which they have appointments. The Dentist, obviously can often not tell in advance how long an operative procedure may take, especially if the Patient has been given an emergency appointment for pain. We always try to see patients at the appointed time. If you are kept waiting there is normally a good reason. It is hoped that Patients will understand that delays are sometimes unavoidable, after all, they themselves may need to be fitted in as a Patient in pain, someday!

EARLY MORNING, LUNCHTIME, EVENING AND SATURDAY SURGERIES. SUNDAY SURGERIES AT GLENMORE.

No operative treatment will be given in the last hour of any Surgery.

THE DENTISTS AND HYGIENISTS WILL NOT ALLOW CHILDREN IN THE SURGERY WHEN OTHER PATIENTS ARE RECEIVING CHECK UPS OR TREATMENT FOR SAFETY REASONS - YOUR CHILDREN CANNOT BE WATCHED ADEQUATELY WHEN TREATMENT IS BEING GIVEN TO ANOTHER PERSON.

UNACCOMPANIED CHILDREN OR BABIES CANNOT BE LEFT IN THE WAITING ROOM: REMEMBER OTHER PATIENTS MAY HAVE COME IN WITH A LOT OF PAIN AND THEY NEED PEACE AND QUIET, SO IT IS BEST TO LEAVE CHILDREN WHO ARE TOO YOUNG TO SIT QUIETLY, AT HOME.

BUDGET PLANNING

As with anything else (eg: house improvements) treatment does not have to be carried out all-at-once. If finances are a problem, your Dentist can discuss budget planning with you and your treatment can be phased to suit you, (if this is clinically possible).

INSURANCES

We offer a variety of excellent Insurance schemes both individual and corporate. These include BUPA, DENPLAN, HSA & Norwich Union. If you would like further detailed information, please ask your Dentist (The Receptionist can supply you with leaflets)

PAYMENT

Most of our Patients prefer to "pay-as-you-go", rather than in advance. We do not send accounts.

We accept Access/Mastercard, Visa and Switch cards. All credit card transactions are processed using our PDQ terminal.
